The reigning Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday signed coach Randy Carlyle to a one-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Carlyle, who guided the Ducks to the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, is under contract with the team through the 2008-09 season.

It seems the extension was signed several months ago and not publically disclosed until now. This is according to an article in the Orange County Register today. Coach Carlyle didn’t want the signing to distract the team with their focus at hand: The playoffs and the Stanley Cup pursuit.
