Ducks Win vs. Chicago, 6-3.

With the Ducks up 4-2 after the second period and Chris Pronger out after getting hit in the face with a stick, the third period started out interesting.

The Ducks killed a Chicago 5-on-3 powerplay in the early part of the final period and things got physical. With less than ten minutes left in the game, Todd Bertuzzi got his helmet taken off by Chicago goaltender Patrick Lalime and the fighting began.

Unfortunately, the Ducks didn’t score on the ensuing powerplay. Chicago briefly made it a one-goal game with roughly 4:30 left but Teemu Selanne answered back to score his third of the evening for the hat-trick following the faceoff. Then, Chris Kunitz scored to get the Ducks up 6-3 with 3:48 left in the game.

Things could have gotten nasty for the Ducks but they remained calm and collected and dominated.

Go Ducks!
