Odds-n-Ends
Guess it’s been a while since I’ve last posted, huh? So, here goes…
I think I’ll try something a bit different than my previous posts. Instead of listing short entries at a time, which can be quite tedious, I’ll recap these entries into one I’ll call, “Odds-n-Ends.” We’ll see how it goes…
After Daniel and I made it back from Maui visiting family, I finally uploaded the remaining “better quality” pics and vids from both my centro and digital camera to my various locales (Flickr, Twitpics and 12seconds.tv). Go check them out.
Daniel has started soccer. Now, he’s got both Taekwondo and soccer to juggle and so far he seems to be enjoying both, even though he’s getting more bumps and bruises from soccer instead of Taekwondo.
We ventured to the beach yesterday and had a great time as usual. Although the beaches here aren’t as pristine as the one’s on Maui, we both enjoyed time connecting ourselves in sand and water again.
After the beach and taking the Balboa ferry to Balboa Island, we stopped for some Tutti Frutti yogurt. It was our first visit to this “make your own” yogurt establishment. To say the least, we both enjoyed our moments of brain freeze together. Looks like we found a new place to hang out at after our beach adventures!
After finishing our yogurt, we stumbled into Martha’s Bookstore. Daniel found a “grow your own fish” and wanted to buy it immediately. It’s one of those expanding foam items that takes a few days to grow. See picture after one day of water submersion. For some reason, he loves those things. Such simple pleasures indeed!
But, what was really exciting is that Daniel got to meet an actual author! I think I was more excited than he was. Her name was Annie Winston and she was doing a book signing for her current book, “Daniel Boone and the Battle of Boonesborough“. I’m sure one day Daniel will appreciate the custom message she wrote in wishing him to live his dreams! I even got a picture of them together, too!
Well, I hope you enjoyed the first “Odds-n-Ends”, entry number 1.
Take care!
