Okay, it’s been a while…

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Things have been quite busy in my world lately.  As my previous post stated, my son and I spent a couple weeks on Maui visiting the clan.  Everyone had a wonderful time and we’re eagerly awaiting our next trip back “home”.

Summer vacation is now over and we’re all adjusted back into the school routine once again. Daniel has entered first grade and so far, he’s having an enjoyable time! It’s certainly a big change since kindergarten was only half a day last year for him.  Now, he’s a “big kid” and is taking on a full day! He’s certainly growing up…

Ducks hockey officially begins next weekend.  We’re in the preseason mode and a few changes were made over the summer.  Hoping we do well this season and make it to the playoffs once again! Let’s Go Ducks!

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve changed a few things on my main page (dwayneyamato.com).  I’ve trimmed the fat and added a link to this blog in the hopes of simplifying things.  Because I utilize Twitter and Facebook in updating everyone on my happenings, I feel it’s the best way in accomplishing things with the busy schedules we all have.  Check it out when you have a chance. I really like the change.

Until next time, I wish everyone good health and happiness.

Dwayne

I’m on vacation, woohoo!

As I write this quick entry, I’m currently on vacation with my son visiting my family on Maui.  It’s been a great visit so far and we’ve done quite a bit.  I can certainly tell if my son had a busy day by what time he wakes up on the following morning.

Primarily, I’ve been using my phone to upload pics/vids,  Tweets and Facebook entries on my happenings.  If interested, I can be followed by clicking any of the links that I have on my social networks.

That’s about all for now.  More updates later!

Disneyland and California Adventure Visit

On Grizzly River Rapids!Matterhorn DisneylandDisneyland Monorail

Yesterday, Daniel and I payed another visit to the Magic Kingdom and had another wonderful day.

We started off by riding the Grizzly River Rapids (California Adventure) and got soaked from head to toe!  We weren’t complaining about it since it was a warm summer day. It was rather refreshing!

After doing a few more rides and playing games on the midway, we headed over to Disneyland.  Daniel wanted to do the Matterhorn Bobsleds for the first time!  Talk about fun!  He enjoyed it very much but said it was a bit bumpy.

We headed over to Big Thunder Mountain and were amazed at how short the line was.  While on the ride, we got through the first uphill section, but while climbing the second hill to continue the ride, it stopped.  After a few minutes of looking at the sky on the uphill, we were directed by a couple Disney cast members off the ride.  We took a brief backlot tour and I shot a few pics on my cellphone.  It was neat to see the ride close up.

Otherwise, it was a great day to visit the Magic Kingdom!  Not too hot and not too many people!

3D Chalk Creation

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Earlier today, Daniel and I had some time before it got too warm to use his new 3D chalk art kit.  Suffice it to say, it actually works while using the supplied 3D glasses!  Here’s a short video showing what we did, but not in 3D, though. You’ll need the glasses for the effect.
